The main task of the present study was the detection of vegetation and land use in the watershed of "Valle de Bravo" in the state of Mexico.

To carry out the work satellite images of Landsat MSS with a spatial resolution of 60m an of the years 1973 and 1986 as well as Landsat ETM+ of the year 2000 and a spatial resolution of 30m were used.
