The purpose of the National Institute of Biodiversity (INBio) is to promote a greater consciousness regarding the value of biodiversity to achieve its conservation and improve the quality of life of the human being. To accomplish these purposes, the INBio, through a group of expert taxonomists, maintains an inventory of its flora in order to maintain systemized reference collections, updated and available to a wide community of users through its page and that of REMIB. Consequently the participation of INBio and REMIB is highly important since it enriches and broadens information related to the flora and fauna of Mesoamerica. The database of the Collection of Macro-fungi of the Herbarium INBio has 5 720 records corresponding to 70 families, 254 genera and 390 species of fungi. |
