Information from the Herbarium of the
Missouri Botanical Garden is being entered into the w3TROPICOS
database through a variety of collaborative floristic, monographic or
conservation projects. Currently the database contains
information on over 116 741 plant names, 1.7 million botanical
specimens and 70 000 bibliographic entries relating to systematic
botany.
The information stored in w3TROPICOS
is concentrated in areas where the Garden has conducted joint research
projects with host countries or currently maintains a staff presence
for training, conservation or collaborative inventory/floristic
projects. The groups covered in the database include angiosperms,
gymnosperms, ferns and bryophytes. |
