The Historical Herbarium of Sesse and Mociño contains specimens collected by the botanists Martin de Sesse, Jose Mariano Mociño, Juan Castillo and Jaime Senseve during the Royal Botanical Expedition to New Spain, that took place from 1787 to 1803. This expedition was financed by the Spanish Crown to make the inventories of the natural resources of the New Spain. Currently, this collection is kept in the Herbarium of the Royal Botanical Garden of Madrid and it is part of the Spanish Historical Heritage.

The database consists of 14 515 records, corresponding to 1 879 genera and 7 635 species that pertains to Mexico, Guatemala, Cuba, Peru, and the United States of America.
