About the Group

What is the BMCG?
The Biodiversity Mainstreaming Champions Group (BMCG) is an informal platform established by CBD Parties and partners to promote ambitious, coordinated action on biodiversity mainstreaming. Formally launched at COP 16, the Group is a response to the call for transformative change across sectors to achieve the 2030 mission of the GBF.

Our Objectives

• Provide political leadership for mainstreaming biodiversity.
• Implement the CBD COP16 Decision 16/13 through cross-sectoral action.
• Promote knowledge exchange, mutual learning, and technical cooperation.
• Support the development of indicators and tools to track progress.
