The Mastozoology Collection of the Museum of Zoology is represented by samples from the southern and central zone of Quintana Roo, including the Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve; in addition, the Cancun-Tulum Tourist Corridor and Cozumel Island in the northern zone of the State. It also has samples from the state of Campeche, including the Calakmul Biosphere Reserve, the Hampolol Biological Station and the Los Petenes Biosphere Reserve. This Mastozoology Collection has 832 specimens pertaining to 24 families, 49 genera and 58 species of mammals and pertains to the SNIB.
