The Mastozoologic Collection of the Museum of Zoology is represented by samples from the southern and central zone of Quintana Roo, including the Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve, as well as the Cancun-Tulum Tourist Corridor and the Island of Cozumel in the northern zone of the State. It also has samples from the state of Campeche, including the Calakmul Biosphere Reserve, the Hampolol Biological Station and the Biosphere Reserve Los Petenes. The database of the Collection of Reference of Mammals of Sian Ka’an, has 472 samples, corresponding to 25 families, 57 genera and 71 species and pertains to the SNIB.
