The National Commission for the Knowledge and Use of Biodiversity covers a large diversity of databases for the purpose of organizing the creation and maintenance of SNIB. Thus, the database Trees from the Yucatan Peninsula, Flora from Tehuantepec, Oaxaca and Asteraceae Family in México is represented by the 92.6% of the species, the 95.1% of the genera and the 94% of the families registered for the peninsula with arboreal forms of growth. The database includes 405 species of Magnoliophyta (flowering plants), that represent 63 families and 233 genera. The registered specimens come from 1 888 localities with sites distributed in 95 municipalities from the states of Campeche, Quintana Roo and Yucatan. These specimens are part of the National Herbarium of the Institute of Biology of the UNAM. In relation to the flora of Tehuantepec, Oaxaca, this database includes information of specimens from the main foreign and national herbarea.

On the other hand, the collection of asteraceae contains information of specimens corresponding to the tribes Senecioneae, Tageteae and Vernonieae placed in the National Herbarea MEXU, CHAPA, ENCB, IBUG and XAL. It is important to mention that from the 21 genera of the tribe Senecioneae registered for Mexico, 12 are restricted to Mexico and Central America and 8 are endemic of Mexico.

Finally, the database includes a total of 24 946 curatorial records pertaining to 161 families, 857 genera, 2 188 species and pertains to the  SNIB.
