ACKNOWLEDGE

Conabio wishes to thank all persons and institutions who have contributed or co-operated in to our Hot-Spot-Detection program.

The program started with a funding by USAID (The United States Agency for International Development), distributed by the Fondo Mexicano para la Conservación de la Naturaleza, A.C., which helped us to establish our program, as well as NOAA-NGDC (National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration - National Geophysical Data Center) which helped by supplying DMSP-OLS data for the first Hot-Spot detection program of 1998 in Conabio.
This program would not have been possible without the continuous and most valuable contributions of several institutions among which are:

The United States Agengy for International Development
El Fondo Mexicano para la Conservación de la Naturaleza, A.C.
National Oceanic & tmospheric Administration - The National Geophysical Data Center
El Instituto de Geografía de la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México
La Procuraduría Federal de Protección al Ambiente
Centrum für Internationale Migration und Entwicklung
El Centro Nacional de Prevención de Desastres
La Secretaría de Medio Ambiente y Recursos Naturales
Comisión Nacional Forestal
USDA Forest SERVICE – Remote Sensing Aplication Center
