L-BAND RECEIVING STATIOM OF NOAA-AVHRR IMAGES Conabio has on its site a L-Band receiving station for direct broadcast of NOAA-AVHHR images. Reception of images started on Feb. 2001. Currently, Conabio receives and stores AVHRR images of the NOAA satellites. AVHRR records electromagnetic radiation in 5 bands, ranging from the visible part of the spectrum to the Thermal Infrared at a spatial resolution of 1.1 km at Nadir.
